iNO  was assigned to create a new mural in a very central area downtown Athens, Greece on the occasion of a Public Information Campaign on the Hepatitis C disease. The Greek visual street artist created this super-large piece showing a faceless man blinded by his success in the hunt of money, however, he is actually sick and he doesn’t know it. A blue splash in the shape of Liver indicates that something is wrong. Dobrowolski is a Polish artist. His favorite work topics spin around death, depression, war children, homeless people problems, addiction , narcissism . He binds those themes altogether by trying to show that all our day to day so-called problems are nothing in comparison to the preceding tragedy and thus we should simply appreciate our life, our moments, our days. Erik Johansson is a photographer and innovator from Sweden based in Prague, Czech Republic and Sweden. Erik doesn’t seize moments, he captures ideas. With the help of his camera and Photoshop, the goal is to make it look as realistic as possible. To Erik photography is just a way to compile material to realize the ideas in his mind with a problem-solving approach. Although one photo can consist of hundreds of different images he always wants it to look as if it could have been captured. His personal work is just complex combinations of his own photographs. Johansson describes his style as ‘photo realistic surrealism — surreal ideas realized in a realistic way with a touch of humor. There are huge murals that are hard to miss and one can see from a distance, there are human size works, usually laid in visible places and there are the discreet and small pieces of art – these ones reveal themselves only to the mindful spectator. “I imagined being able to draw in the air while keeping a direct relationship with the context” , says EdoardoTresoldi , the artist of this sublime shrine. The installation joins ancient archaeology with contemporary art and its 12th-century structure attracts crowds and queues. The reason isn’t the church itself. What’s attracting the curious crowds is the fact that, from afar, it seems nothing more but an optical illusion. It gives the appearance of a hologram, or a 3D charcoal drawing, being all covered in iron-wire mesh.

eL Seed , a french-tunisian street artist has planned the mural for over a year. His team, had a help from the local priest, in the Cairo slum, Manshiyat Nasr, where the garbage of the city is collected and where one of the most developed and profitable recycling systems are. The neighbourhood nonetheless, still has a bad rep. An anamorphic piece rose that covered 50 buildings only visible from a certain point of the Moqattam Mountain. It uses the words of Saint Athanasius of Alexandria, a Coptic bishop from the 3rd century, who says: “ He who wants to see the sunlight, one needs to wipe his eyes´´. What makes this mural special for Egypt is Cairo’s intolerance for artists. Agents are being sent to cultural centers and most recently a novelist has been prosecuted on the charges of harming ´´public morality´´. What seemed surprising was the fact that eL Seed and Co. managed to complete the project without any interference from the police or harassment. The message is clear for Egyptian artists and citizens alike, hope is needed and it gives resilience to pass the hardest of times. After support from the neighbourhood, through the priest and after exposing his distinctive calligraphy art in France, Brazil and Tunisia, eL Seed said the reactions in Cairo were overwhelming. Pichi & Avo , a duo from Valencia, Spain rose up in 2007 with their splashes of color to the Mediterranean coast and abroad. With their urban warriors, they have created a massive stir in their hometown and just about to set the rest of Europe ablaze, leads them to participate in numerous national and international events. Now, they have returned to their hometown with their signature pieces of classical, ancient figures combined with modern techniques and style. This piece was a bit of challenge, trying something new, they have switched to acrylic paint for the surreal sculptures.
